Set up your tablet for internet : Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9

The internet connection is shared by many functions on your tablet such as internet browsing, receiving email messages and installing apps. You can access the internet as soon as you've inserted your SIM. If this isn't the case, you can set up your tablet for internet manually.

1. Find "Access Point Names"

Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your tablet.
Press Wireless.
Press Mobile Network.
Press Advanced Network Settings.
Press Access Point Names.

2. Create new data connection

Press Add APN.

3. Enter data connection name

Press the field below "Name".
Key in Safaricom Internet

4. Enter APN

Press the field below "APN".
Key in safaricom

5. Enter username

Press the field below "Username".
Key in saf

6. Enter password

Press the field below "Password".
Key in data

7. Enter country code

Press the field below "MCC".
Key in 639

8. Enter network code

Press the field below "MNC".
Key in 02

9. Select authentication type

Press PAP.

10. Enter APN type

Press the field below "APN type".
Key in default

11. Select data bearer

Press Unspecified.

12. Save and activate data connection

Press Save.
Press the field next to the data connection to fill in the field.

13. Return to the home screen

Press the home icon to return to the home screen.
